CBD Oil for Seizures: Safe Option for Seizures – H.R. 5266
This bill would exclude therapeutic hemp and cannabidiol (CBD) from the Controlled Substances Act, ensuring that children and adults with epilepsy and other debilitating conditions have unmitigated access to potentially life-changing CBD oil and therapeutic hemp. CBD-rich therapeutic hemp strains have been used by thousands of people in the United States and are shown to reduce the number and duration of seizures in children living with epilepsy and seizure disorders. The “Charlotte’s Web Medical Hemp Act of 2014” would allow cultivators across the country the right to harvest more CBD-rich plants and extract more oil, facilitating greater access to this potentially lifesaving treatment for those suffering from epilepsy and other debilitating conditions.
